Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 14, 1962, Stephen M. Moon is a graduate of Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania and the University of Miami School of Law, Miami, Florida. He was a member of the first group of attorneys in Florida to achieve Board Certification in Admiralty and Maritime Law when it was first offered by the Florida Bar in 1996 and has maintained his board certification ever since.

Mr. Moon specializes in handling "Jones Act" negligence claims, “unseaworthiness” claims, and “maintenance and cure” claims brought on behalf of seafarers working on board cruise ships, casino vessels, fishing vessels, tugs, cargo vessels and yachts. He also represents passengers and guests who have been injured on cruise ships, gaming vessels or recreational vessels.

As a passionate advocate for his clients, Stephen M. Moon takes great pride in being both professional and accessible. He has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubble and has been selected to Super Lawyers by his peers on two occasions. He welcomes referrals and invitations to assist as co-counsel in Admiralty and Maritime Law claims. Mr. Moon is a past chairman and vice-chairman of the Admiralty and Maritime Law Board Certification Committee of the Florida Bar. He is also a past chairman and vice-chairman of the Admiralty Law Committee of the Florida Bar and has been an active member of that committee since 1989. He has been a member of the American Association for Justice since 1988, the Florida Justice Association since 1988, the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute since 1989, The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida since 1989, The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida since 1989, the Brevard County Bar Association since 1994 and a member of the United States Power Squadron since 1995. Mr. Moon was a member of the Dade County Bar Association from 1989 to 1995 and a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association from 1988 to 1989.
